FINCAD - Frank Barr appointed Chairman of the Board, Dr. Gerri Sinclair joins as Member of the Board
Vancouver, BC, CANADA , April 9, 2007 –- FINCAD (FinancialCAD Corporation) announced the following changes to its Board of Directors today. We’d like to welcome Frank Barr, FCA, to the position of Chairman of the Board. Mr. Barr is an independent chartered accountant and business consultant with extensive experience in the private, public and voluntary sectors as a director and in senior financial positions. He is a past chair of the Risk Management and Governance Board of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and a past president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia. Frank has served FINCAD as Director, and Chair of its audit and governance committees prior to this appointment. Frank lives in Victoria, B.C.
As well, FINCAD welcomes Dr. Gerri Sinclair as a FINCAD Director. Dr. Sinclair's cross-domain career includes more than 20 years' experience spanning the fields of internet and new media technology, entrepreneurial business, academic research, and government policy.
Dr. Sinclair is currently the Executive Director of the Centre for Digital Media which recently received B.C. Government funding to create a world leading graduate school program in Vancouver to train tomorrow’s leaders in digital entertainment industries. She was recently the Chair of the Canada Telecom Policy Review Panel, advising the Federal Government of Canada on the policy and regulatory environment required to provide Canada with an advanced telecommunications framework. Dr. Sinclair was formerly the General Manager of MSN Canada, as well as the founder and CEO of NCompass Labs, an Internet content management company acquired by Microsoft in 2001.
These appointments come on the heels of FINCAD’s placement in the top four entrants for best governed private sector organizations in Canada by The Conference Board of Canada/Spencer Stuart 2007 National Awards in Governance - along with Royal Bank of Canada, Talisman Energy Inc. and Nexen Inc.
