What we will ask of you
As part of the Americas / Asia Pacific Direct Sales team, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for:
- Being a trusted advisor to our clients and the leader of all client relationships at both existing and new accounts.
- Developing a long-term, sustainable, and healthy client relationships by ensuring
- Our products and services meet our client’s needs.
- New and sustained sales opportunities are identified and sold-in.
- Services are sold-in, resourced and delivered in a profitable manner.
Success in this role will be determined by achieving key targets related to sales generation, client and team satisfaction.
Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- 2+ years Inside Sales experience with experience closing software license deals and proven ability to “WOW” customers.
- University degree in finance and marketing or knowledge of financial derivatives and financial markets experience is an asset.
- Successfully managed a sales target and sales forecasts.
- Sales affinity, including curiosity, competitiveness, and win-win attitude.
- An ability to demonstrate self-confidence, flexibility, initiative, perseverance, and integrity.
- Knowledge of business organization structures, buying influences and purchasing processes.
- The ability to develop, nurture and maintain strong relationships with the clients.
- You empathize and understand the customer, knowing when to listen and when to lead using active listening.
- You have excellent prospecting, account management and assertive results orientated focus on closing.
- Professional and mature telephone manner.
- Strong negotiation, communication, writing and organizational skills.
- Have a sense of humour.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Computer Applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook is required.
Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for a sales target by initiating, securing, and expanding sales producing opportunities within existing and new accounts.
- Use the FINCAD Sales Success Advantage sales process in the mutual best interest of the customer and the Company.
- Understand the customer’s core business strategy and find ways for FINCAD to support and deliver that strategy through superior customer experience and enabling technologies.
- Develop and meet accurate quarterly and annual sales forecasts for a named account territory. Report on a weekly basis.
- Be an active contributor to a positive, innovative, collaborative, and cooperative work environment.

You will contact senior executives and decision makers in firms that provide financial software and related services to some of the largest financial institutions and corporations in North America and overseas by telephone or in person to help them meet the requirements of their clients and grow their business with our leading edge software products and services, through a professionally managed alliance program. Your duties will include building strong relationships, explaining FINCAD’s solutions and expertise, contract negotiations and closing sales.
Requirements:
- University degree, finance or marketing preferred
- Strong communication and telephone skills

As part of the Research and Development team, the Financial Software Engineer responsibilities include design, documentation, implementation and troubleshooting software programs for the web systems products using the latest Microsoft technologies. The SE conducts detailed research and analysis of defined software engineering problems and prepares design proposals to reflect costs, time and alternative actions to satisfy existing and future needs. The SE provides detailed estimates for allocated work items. Follow the documented development process and participate in the continual improvement of the development processes and procedures implemented at FINCAD to improve the quality and efficiency of the department.
Requirements:
- 2 – 5 years experience in software development with detailed knowledge of ASP.Net, C#, MS SQL and web technologies
- Excellent knowledge of the Software development life cycle with a commitment to acquire a high level of domain knowledge in the financial domain through self and assisted studies.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- University degree or recognized diploma in software engineering

As part of the Research and Development team, the Jr. Quantitative Analyst responsibilities include:
- Designing, documenting, prototyping and programming mathematical solutions to specified financial problems.
- Conducting detailed research and analysis of defined financial engineering problems.
- Providing financial expertise in the design of business solutions.
- Assisting in the specification/documentation of detailed requirements for features.
- Providing detailed estimates for allocated work items; regularly reporting progress on allocated work including issues that threaten the quality or timeliness of the work.
- Participating in the continual improvement of the quantitative research (and development) processes and procedures implemented at FINCAD.
- Continually improving knowledge of the financial domain by reading books, attending seminars/courses and subsequently disseminating the knowledge amongst the whole R&D team.
- Acting as a domain expert for areas allocated by the Director of Quantitative Research.
- Participating in the review of peers work.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. or Masters degree in mathematics or a mathematical science
- Programming experience is required; working knowledge of VB and/or C++
- Knowledge of basic concepts of financial engineering, and desire to learn more
- Good communications skills (verbal and written)
- Good planning and organizational abilities
- Works well in pressure situations
- Desirable (but not essential) skills include: Exposure to Matlab, strong OO based programming skills, advanced MS-Excel user, and experience with a formal software development process

- Experience with C++ Templates programming and Boost Library or TR1
- Knowledge of Python would be an asset

Working closely Research and Development team, the QA Engineer designs, develops, recommends and implements software quality assurance procedures to test and evaluate software products. Reviews documentation, conducts alpha and beta testing and creates reports recommending changes to verify product quality. Installs and supports pre-production software for in-house testing. Ensures that new and existing products being released are reliable, defect free and function as documented.
Requirements:
- University degree, diploma or certificate
- 2 to 5 years experience in QA
- Good knowledge of C++
