We want to improve the communities where we live and work and also, to the extent possible, give back to the communities around the globe that purchase our products and services. FINCAD's community service initiatives include educational and industry-oriented activities as well as supporting community focused activities of our employees.
Educational Programs
FINCAD supports the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences (PIMS) with annual grants under a multi-year agreement. PIMS, founded in 1996 is the central coordinating agency for the research activities of mathematical scientists at five Western Canadian universities, the Universities of Alberta, British Columbia, Calgary and Victoria, as well as Simon Fraser University. For several years FINCAD has provided the opportunity for post-doctoral mathematical students to gain valuable experience in finance.
Industry Programs
FINCAD also supports higher standards of professionalism in financial management by providing the Western Canadian site and proctors for the annual Financial Risk Manager certification examination administered by the Global Association of Risk Professionals, a leading global association of more than 40,000 financial risk management professionals.
We are also active members of the BC Technology Industries Association and the Fraser Valley Technology Network and participate regularly in events and initiatives sponsored by other technology industry and financial industry groups.
Community Service
FINCAD supports education, community enrichment and other efforts where FINCAD people are qualified and able to make a difference.
